Well actually, Peyton Manning will set a new NFL record with every touchdown he throws for the rest of his career. Credit: Jack Dempsey

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning broke the NFL's career touchdown pass record with an 8-yard toss to Dmaryius Thomas on Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers, giving him 509 scoring passes in his career.

Manning then threw another touchdown pass later in the game to break the NFL career touchdown pass record and give him 510 for his career. (Fun fact: Every single touchdown pass Manning throws between now and when he retires will be an NFL record!)

After Manning tossed the record-breaker to give himself 509 career TD passes, the NFL shared this infographic on Twitter that shows how all 509 touchdowns break down by receiver. It's a really cool way of visualizing a historic achievement.

As you can see, Thomas is the only Broncos player to rank among Manning's top-5 TD targets. Still, this is only Manning's third season in Denver after 13 with the Indianapolis Colts, so even ranking that high speaks well to what Manning thinks of Thomas as a receiver.

Then there was the local Seattle TV news station that credited Gary Payton -- a former great for the NBA's former Seattle Supersonics (hashtag-RIP) -- with the record instead of Manning. Well played -- at least, we think that was on purpose.
