Since its inception in 1984, the PG-13 movie rating has come to dominate the big-budget film landscape.

Pitchfork released a short and entertaining animated history of the rating, which, apparently, has a lot to do with Indiana Jones and The Gremlins. You'll learn about the "two-f*cks" rule, as well as the bizarre and arbitrary things that can get a film an R-rating.
