BERLIN -- Syncing up wireless speakers in different rooms can be a real chore. The Philips Izzy multi-room speaker makes it as simple as pressing a button.

Assuming you buy multiple Izzy speakers, all you have to do to play is press the "Izzylink group" button and you'll be blasting music from one speaker to another.

Designed in partnership with Gibson Innovations, the Izzy BM5 (it's full model name), packs two 2.5-inch drivers and a bass port to deliver sound that's capable of filling up an entire room.

Smartphones and tablets connect to the Izzy via Bluetooth. Philips says the speaker doesn't need a router (or a bridge like many Sonos speakers), an app or a password.

The Izzy can be used as a standalone speaker or connected with up to four additional Izzy speakers using the group button. The idea is for you to be able to place Izzy speakers in different rooms and have the music keep playing seamlessly when you switch between rooms.

Philips says the Izzy has a range of up to about 328 feet.

“The new Philips Izzy range is a real breakthrough for people that want an easy-to-use multi-room music system in their home,” Benjamin Ngo, Gibson Innovations' head of Audio Business Leader said in a press release.

The Izzy will be priced at $129.99 and will be available at Best Buy retails and Bestbuy.com in October.
