Consumers may be increasingly unwilling to, you know, buy music -- but maybe they'll be willing to a buy a speaker to stream free music.

Philips unveiled a Spotify-specific speaker at CES on Monday, and it allows users to seamlessly move music from the app to the loudspeaker.

So say a user has just walked through the front door -- but wait! Her favorite song just started playing on the Spotify app. Not to worry. She can simply press a button on the Philips speaker and it will continue playing the song without missing a note.

Philips' concept is that customers might buy a bunch of these and scatter them throughout their houses to create a "multiroom" experience. In other words, someone could move from the living room, where music is playing from a Spotify speaker, to the kitchen, press play on yet another speaker and continue the music-listening chain.

The system comes with its own Philips-Spotify app that can be used to group speakers together. In the native Spotify app, a user can select single speakers or speaker groups to begin playing music.

Soon your home will be filled with music -- so long as it's not Taylor Swift's music. And also only if you're willing to shell out a decent amount of money. There are two models of the Philips speaker: a small one ($129.99) and a larger one ($179.99).

The speakers are set to hit North America in Spring 2015.
