[img src="" caption="" credit="" alt=""]The battle in online photo editing just got a lot more heated with the public launch of Photoshop Express by the pre-eminent desktop graphics software maker - Adobe.

While Adobe brings brand recognition and major distribution opportunities with its new offering, existing players Picnik and FotoFlexer have already found plenty of fans and partners of their own, including Flickr and Photobucket, respectively.

And, as Stan writes in his review of Photoshop Express, “Final verdict: if you’re already used to some online photo editor like Picnik, switching to Express is not a must as it doesn’t offer much more.” There are also dozens of other upstarts looking to bring photo editing to the masses for free or next-to-nothing, as we covered in our photography toolbox.
