A teenager has unwittingly unearthed photos of the first-ever Nirvana gig.
Maggie Poukkula, 19, tweeted out some pictures of her father, Tony Poukkula, jamming with the band last week after she found them tucked into some of his books on Kurt Cobain.
She didn't realize that the gig, which saw her dad playing with Cobain, Krist Novoselic and drummer Aaron Burckhard, constituted the band's first public performance.
During the set, which took place in Poukkula senior's basement in Raymond, Washington in spring 1987, he joined the band for covers of two Led Zeppelin songs.
"Pictures of my dad and Kurt Cobain playing together back in the day," she wrote.

The Internet was swiftly blown away.

"I had no idea that those were during Nirvana's first concert," she told Rolling Stone. "My dad showed me them a while back, but he never mentioned that's what was going on in the photos. I found out because of all the articles. I didn't realize it was such a historical thing. I thought they were just cool pictures of my dad and Kurt jamming together."
Nirvana took on Led Zep's "Heartbreaker" and "How Many More Times" during the set, according to the magazine, as well as early versions of "Hairspray Queen" and "If You Must," which is thought to exist as a bootleg on YouTube.
Tony Poukkala is still gigging with his "aggressive rock" band Laytem.
