Leaked Photos Show Sony Xperia Z and ZL

Press shots of Sony's upcoming smartphones, the Xperia Z "Yuga" and Xperia ZL "Odin", which showed up on Sony's website, give hope that the Japanese tech giant is finally ready to launch a flagship phone worthy of its name.

The photos did not come with any additional info, but the rumored specs for both devices include a 1.5GHz Snapdragon quad-core CPU with Adreno 320 graphics, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera.

Oddly, even though the Sony Xperia ZL looks a bit shorter than the Xperia Z in the photo, the screen sizes for both devices are rumored to be the same -- 5 inches. Also, the front camera on the ZL looks to be positioned in the lower right corner.

As far as looks go, it seems that Sony has finally succumbed to the overwhelmingly popular trend in smartphone design these days, as the front side of both devices consists of a huge screen and little else.

We'll probably learn more about these two at CES trade show, which is held January 8 - 11 in Las Vegas.
