Photobucket Builds the Tallest House of Cards?

There was a time, about a year ago, when it was hard to convince Silicon Valley that Photobucket, not Flickr, was leading the pack on photo hosting. Much like the current buzz around Digg, which only just scored its millionth registered member, Flickr was getting a disproportionate amount of coverage in the blogosphere.

But now the secret is out, and it's no surprise to hear from Hitwise that Photobucket had 41.4% market share in the photo category in March 2007 - compared to a measly 5.79% for the number two player, Yahoo Photos.
