With more than 50 species in the world currently listed as endangered, or critically endangered, on the World Wildlife Fund's Species Directory, institutions like Singapore Zoo are key to saving them.
The zoo has been involved in multiple conservation programs. Its famous orangutans have managed to birth 41 offspring over the past 40 years. Their public educational programs are another way Singapore Zoo is contributing to the preservation of animal species and their habitats.
