A rare hybrid eclipse burned over parts of North America, South America, Europe and Africa early on Sunday.
Typically, an eclipse either stamps out the sun entirely or leaves a glowing ring around the black sphere of the moon, but this one did both, according to the BBC. A total eclipse occurred over the Atlantic Ocean.
