PictureTrail, a photo slide show creator, is launching their new "create slideshow" user interface called flicks 2.0 that went live this morning.

As we mentioned in a post for the top 10 Slideshow sites on MySpace, PictureTrail was lacking in the fun department for the creation of slideshows. With the new interface, they're hoping to attain a more youthful feel and improved functionality. They've gotten rid of the wizard-style slideshow creation process, which navigated through several pages. It's now easier to choose photos to be added to your slideshow, and all of your customization options are available on one page, from the photos you add and where they're imported from, as well as your slideshow design template and its color customization.

In all, we like the new user interface, though there is a bit of scrolling up and down the page involved. It's much improved from PictureTrail's previous design, and encourages users to play around with their slideshows, instead of feeling like there is a definite start and finish.
