Pinterest really wants you to buy stuff.

The platform launched a new way for you to track buyable pins on Thursday so you know when the price drops on certain items.

When you save a buyable pin, you'll get in-app and email notifications when the item's price drops; you can then go straight to the pin and purchase the item within the app. The company says more than 1 million pins drop in price each day.

In June, the platform announced buyable pins, allowing retailers to add a "buy" button to pins. You pin them like you do with any other post -- the only difference is that you can buy those products right in Pinterest's app.

The company's move to monitor price drops follows a string of other changes to the platform. In many ways, the platform is becoming a search engine; recently, Pinterest released an update that lets you search within images for similar items, building on the idea that people use Pinterest for shopping ideas. It also launched place pins, letting you map out your travels in a way that's similar to Yelp or Google.
