The Pirate Party, whose goal is to "fundamentally reform copyright law, get rid of the patent system and ensure that citizens' rights to privacy are respected", has more than doubled its support with Swedish voters, rising from 3.4 percent to 7.9 percent in a week. This makes it the third strongest political party in Sweden, behind the Social Democrats with 35.9 percent and the Moderate Party with 24.1 percent.
