A lot of companies are starting off 2008 with hopes of acquisitions. Pluck is the latest to put itself up for sale, and it's hoping for $75 million according to a report on Paid Content. Having switched from an RSS reader service to a B2B tool, the focus on its SiteLife features have been the primary considerations for Pluck in the past year.
After a round of funding from Reuters and other backers in 2006, the company has in fact raised about $17 million since its launch in 2003. In moving towards servicing publishers for social media syndication tools, Pluck has begun plans for deeper social media integration with existing networks through applications on Facebook and Open Social, which were planned for release this year.
