Members of the crowd at an NYPD graduation ceremony booed New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio before and during his speech on Monday, days after some officers turned their backs to the mayor while he spoke at a fellow officers' funeral on Saturday.

An already tense rift between de Blasio and the city's police erupted after two NYPD officers were shot and killed in Brooklyn earlier this month, and some officers have taken to protesting against the mayor for what they believe are his "anti-police" policies.

You can watch him take the stage amid booing and cheering, below.

De Blasio has been an opponent of the police tactic stop-and-frisk since before he was elected, criticizing it for its disproportional use against minority citizens. He succeeded in changing the policy as mayor, and some officers have accused him of making the city more dangerous for police.

The mayor's office seemed prepared for the graduation ceremony jeers.

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton recently criticized officers for turning their backs on the mayor, but said the rift between de Blasio and the police will continue for the foreseeable future.
