Sgt. Ariel Soltura of the Rosenberg Police Department in Texas spotted 10-year-old Jermaine Ford tossing a football by himself in a parking lot while on patrol Saturday afternoon. Rather than roll by, the police officer pulled over and joined Ford for a quick game of catch.

The dash cam on Sgt. Soltura's patrol car caught the playful moment, and the Rosenberg Police Department posted the footage to its Facebook page. The video has since garnered more than 5,000 shares.

Soltura told Fox 26 Houston that he hopes the viral video will inspire other law enforcement agencies to "police with the community."

As for little Jermaine? He now hopes to grow up to be a football player or a police officer.
