A Polish man has been accused of insulting president Lech Kaczynski by way of Google Bombs. An amateur software developer, Marek W. from Ciszyn has created a tool for website positioning. Using this software for a Google search will position a particular website as the first item in your search results page. Turns out, Marek W. had positioned president Kaczynski's official website to show as the first search result when you type in the keyword "penis." It was this particular positioning term that led officials to trace Marek at his home (amateur indeed). Marek W. has told officials that he was simply testing out the software when assigning the genetalia term to pull up the president's website as a search result.

This story has been translated by Ludwik Trammer from Polish publication "Gazeta Wyborcza." If the Polish government is anything like Thailand's, then Marek may be in over his head. Nevertheless, Google has indicated that it's updated its own software to prevent such bombing from occurring in the future.
