To err is human, but to get airtime again is divine.

Brian Williams made his low-key return to television on Tuesday, hosting MSNBC's coverage of Pope Francis's visit to the U.S.

The anchor just finished serving a six-month suspension after it came to light that he had embellished stories of his field coverage.

[seealso slug=http://sale-online.click/2015/02/10/brian-williams-suspension/%5D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWilliams's return ended up well-timed to make the anchor himself less of a spectacle as the Pope took most of the attention on a historic visit. Williams made no mention of the suspension or the controversy, opting to go straight ahead with the news.

In February, NBC removed Williams from the anchor desk of NBC Nightly News, where he had also been managing editor. The problems started after an article in Stars and Stripes included Williams admitting that he had not been on a helicopter down by a rocket-propelled grenade in Iraq -- a story he had told publicly numerous times.

Lester Holt replaced Williams on Nightly News. An investigation by NBC found that the helicopter story was not an isolated incident, and that Williams had exaggerated in at least 10 instances.
