Pope Francis holds summit meeting with first dogs Bo and Sunny

Pope Francis just spent Wednesday speaking in front of a crowd of thousands and attending mass in Washington, D.C. -- but for many, the highlight of his trip is sure to be his historic first meeting with presidential dogs Sunny and Bo Obama.

The Pope met with President Obama's two Portuguese Water Dogs, and White House photographer Pete Souza was on hand to capture the moment:

What policies were discussed during the meeting has not been revealed -- but it's clear that the pups provided a welcome energy boost for the Holy Father.
