Pope Francis Is Auctioning His Harley for Charity
Pope Francis will auction his signed Harley Davidson motorcycle, with the proceeds going to charity.

So guess what? Pope Francis rides a Harley.

Well, at least he used to ride a Harley. Or he might have. We honestly don't know. What we do know, however, is that the Catholic Church's top dog and former club bouncer is auctioning his 1,585 cc Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide in Paris next month.

On February 6, a charity auction orchestrated by the church backed Caritas Roma will sell the bike, signed "Francesco" on its tank, for the poor. Paris's Grand Palais will host the event during Bonham's Les Grandes Marques du Monde auction.

The bike was given to Pope Francis in the summer of 2013, but no one knows if he's actually torn up the Vatican streets with it. It is not clear if the Pope actually rode it. "I suspect that it will (have) a very limited mileage," said Ben Walker, motorcycle auctioneer at the London-based Bonhams.

Bonhams figures the bike is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of 12,000 to 15,000 euros ($16,400 to $20,500).

Pope-dog is tossing in a leather jacket, also signed by His Holiness, which will be auctioned immediately after the bike.
