Never underestimate the lengths people will go to for a delicious potato salad.
While most people use Kickstarter for million-dollar projects, like rebooting a classic TV show or funding their indie band's latest album, Zack Danger Brown had a humble, more savory goal in mind -- to make a scrumptious potato salad.

The campaign, which started with the modest goal of $10 (a reasonable price for a quality side dish), began earlier last Thursday with about as little fanfare as potato salad itself.
"Someone asked if I’d ever made potato salad and I couldn’t say that I had. So I turned to Kickstarter to change that,” Brown told Buzzfeed.
Brown's Kickstarter began to skyrocket far beyond his original expectations. With a little less than a month still left to go, more than 1,500 backers have pledged a total of more than $20,000 to his campaign.
Perhaps it was irony, inspiration or just plain hunger that lead to its success. But whatever people's motivations, Brown has offered some rewards for the pledges of money, including allowing donors to choose "potato salad appropriate" ingredients, receive their own bites of the salad, "hang out" in the kitchen with him, and a pizza party for all those who donated toward his goal.
With (far) more than $10 in his pocket now, Brown has agreed to try two different recipes and reach out to a chef for assistance in creating his culinary masterpiece.
