Whether you use it to cover up insecurities or to glam up before your next cocktail party, make-up has the definitive power to transform a woman's face -- and her outlook.

With an assortment of celebrities and publications encouraging a more natural look, Youtuber Nikkie Tutorials posted a video of her transforming half her face in complete make-up and half of her face make-up free. She hopes to to bring back the fun in experimenting with beauty products and show the "power of make-up."

"You only wear makeup because you're insecure", "why so much makeup? Boys don't like that! ...NO! Enough of that. I wear makeup because it is FUN. It is a way for me to put my mind at rest and let my creativity flow. Today's video is now live on my channel, and to see this transformation come to life, please watch it (direct link in bio) #nikkietutorials A photo posted by N I K K I E T U T O R I A L S (@nikkietutorials) on May 10, 2015 at 12:32pm PDT

Nikkie, a professional make-up artist from the Netherlands, noticed that a lot of women were reluctant to admit their love of make-up.

"Nowadays when you say you love make-up you either do it because you want to look good for boys, you do it because you're insecure, or you do it because you don't love yourself. I feel like in a way lately it is almost a crime to love doing your make-up," Nikkie says in the video.

Inspired by an episode RuPaul's Drag Race where contestant wore half drag/half male make-up, Nikkie completely makes up half her face, leaving the other half bare. She gives instructions and beauty tips throughout the video, explaining each step along the way.

While she encourages women to take advantage of the "power of make-up," Nikkie clarifies, "By no means I want to say that if you have insecurities that you should just slap make-up on, feel better, and just never be content with your own self. I just want people to know that make up is fun and there are no rules to make-up. Make-up is there for days when you want to look hella good!"
