Pownce announced a series of new features today. Among them, upcoming event notifications ("see the next five upcoming events you’ve been sent"), automatic video embedding for YouTube, Google, Metacafe, Revver and Vimeo (add a link and an embed will be inserted automatically), auto-thumbnailing when you link to a Zooomr image from your notes, the ability to list all your social networks on your profile and a few new options in the preferences settings.
All these tweaks are nice, but the one thing that has let Twitter run away with the lead is its API: the Pownce API should be a high priority.
