The movement has been gaining steam with organizations like @MTVStayingAlive, @UN, @WorldBank and artists including @AnnieLennox, @30SecondstoMars and @CraigDavid tweeting and posting the hashtag.
Every day, more than 7,000 people are infected with HIV. There are five new HIV infections for every two people who access HIV treatment. This last statistic has helped spur UNAIDS to push for a revolution in how AIDS is prevented.
Even though there is still no cure or vaccine for AIDS, the best preventatives are awareness, knowledge and safe sex.
