In Case You Can't Catch Drew Carey on Daytime TV, The Price Is Right Now Has a Social Network

"Come on down!" We all know what that phrase refers to. We've all grown up watching Bob Barker say those words, and seeing an over-giggly member of the audience run "down" to the main floor to take their spot beneath the legend that Bob is. Well, now it's Drew Carey, but we all still love The Price is Right. And in an effort to continue with the new young look, it's also launching an online social network.

There are online games for you to participate in, and a slew of video content from behind the scenes, classic moments, model profiles and a video blog from Drew Carey. As a member, you can create your own profile, write blogs around ongoing activity and games on site, and chat with other people. The site overall is still a bit glitchy. As with most communities launched for a traditional media entity, there's little customization involved, though profile modules like the About Me section appear to support HTML and other formating options.

The site navigation is pretty dismal, and leads to several dead ends. In all, this is very reminiscent of Clear Channel's slew of social networks launched for nationwide radio stations. The launching of the new community component for The Price is Right's website was achieved in conjunction with DAVE Networks and FremantleMedia.
