LONDON -- How do you meet a member of the British royal family if you're the First Lady on a visit to London? Over a cup of tea at a palace it seems.

Michelle Obama met Prince Harry Tuesday as part of her visit to the UK, during which she's announcing a series of new partnerships between the U.S. and the UK to educate adolescent girls in developing countries around the world.

Writing in the Financial Times Tuesday, the First Lady wrote about partnerships with the UK and Japan that she says will help remove barriers to education.

"Right now, more than 62 million girls around the world are out of school — a heartbreaking injustice that deprives these girls of the chance to develop their potential," she writes.

As well as meeting with Prince Harry, Obama will also meet with Prime Minister David Cameron to discuss her initiatives for promoting education for girls and host a round-table discussion with British students to promote the "Let Girls Learn," initiative, launched in March.
