After wrapping up season one of Quantico, Priyanka Chopra will soon be seen as a good cop in the forthcoming police drama Jai Gangaajal. In the newly-released trailer of the Bollywood film, Chopra plays Abha Mathur, an idealistic police officer who is appointed as the first female police superintendent of the crime-ridden Bankipur district in the eastern state of Bihar.

The trailer suggests that the film will revolve around the tried-and-tested formula of Chopra playing the honest cop who takes on powerful politicians and local goons in the district. A sequel of director Prakash Jha's 2003 film Gangaajal, it features his characteristic political melodrama and action scenes. Jha also makes his debut as one of the corrupt policemen working under Chopra.

Shot in June this year, the film reportedly helped Chopra essay the role of FBI trainee Alex Parrish in Quantico. On Twitter, the actress called it her "quickest film" to date.

Here it is... The quickest film I've ever shot! Introducing #AbhaMathur in a role & film I am so very proud of https://t.co/VLpwtjOtZb
