Sometimes, a small act of kindness in the soda aisle can bring joy to the entire Internet.

When Keith Kiel witnessed employee Gage Boucher going out of his way to help an elderly customer tie his shoe at the Publix grocery store in Ormond Beach, Florida, he thought it deserved some recognition. So Kiel snapped a photo and posted it to his Facebook page, as well as the Publix page.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

Post by Keith Kiel.

The touching photo did not go unnoticed, gathering nearly 200,000 likes and more than 15,000 shares in just a few days.

The local news also took note, and in an interview with My News 13, Boucher revealed his side of the story.

"I looked over and he was going to do it, and I just asked him to do it. I did his one shoe and I did the other. He was trying to give me money -- in the picture you can see he’s got his wallet and I said 'don’t worry about it. I’ll just do it.'"

Boucher also added that he hopes his story will inspire others to act kinder.

Now go do something nice, Internet.
