Online ad optimizer PubMatic has launched a new way to keep track of trends in the online advertising space, dubbed the PubMatic AdPrice Index. The new site analyzes eCPM (effective cost per thousand ad impressions) data from the company’s 3,000 or so publishers across different sized web sites in three verticals: social networking, technology, and gaming.
Perhaps most relevant to our readers, the first report shows that social networking sites had the lowest eCPM ($0.37), but, grew sharply from the $0.22 eCPM that PubMatic is reporting for January. The other major finding of the report is that smaller publishers (sub 1 million monthly page views) are achieving the highest eCPMs. I’ve embedded the full report below so you can check out all of the findings:
