Doug the Pug helps spread cheer with positive messages for total strangers

Sometimes, it's the little things that can brighten your day, like seeing a smush-faced pug.

Nashville native Doug the Pug made good on his New Year's resolution by visiting a local homeless shelter, the fire department and some local businesses to deliver messages of kindness and encouragement.

"Doug makes a lot of people happy on the internet," the pug's human, Leslie Mosier, told Mashable. "So I wanted to find a way to brighten the days of strangers here in Nashville."

"It’s true that a dog can turn around even the worst of days, and I’d love to find ways to continue making people smile through Doug in the future."
