New Orleans really does have a parade for everything.

Groups of dogs gathered on Feb. 8 for the 23rd annual Mystic Krewe of Barkus parade, which features dogs and their owners dressed in costume.

The Mystic Krewe of Barkus was founded in 1992 after Thomas Wood brought his dog to a meeting at a bar and some patrons complained about it.

The parade features a king and queen canine that ascend through the ranks of dog royalty. All registration fees and proceeds from the parade benefit what its website describes as a "worthy animal welfare group."

Although there seems to be no defined theme for the parade, Star Wars was clearly a popular trend this year.
