The last Land Rover Defender, the bulky and rugged British icon, rolled off the factory floor in Solihull, where it had been manufactured for almost 7 decades. Land Rover ceased production on the line and has plans to produce a cleaner, more fuel efficient version sometime in the future.

The Defender has a long line of fans and obsessives, none more visible than Queen Elizabeth herself. The monarch has long been seen riding in the back of one for decades and is known to drive her own Defender in the countryside.
