LONDON -- British astronaut Tim Peake embarked on his voyage to the International Space Station on Tuesday, and the nation banded together to wish him good luck on social media.

Her Majesty the Queen was among them.

On Tuesday evening, the official Facebook page of the British Monarchy shared a message from none other than Lizzie herself, wishing Tim "a productive mission and a safe return to earth."

Peake will be spending six months on the International Space Station, where he will be conducting various scientific experiments (apparently he has a whopping 265 lined up) before returning to Earth.

Prime Minister David Cameron has also taken to social media to wish Peake luck, although it's fair to say his message didn't go down quite as well the Queen's.
