Japanese Muggles Make 'Quidditching' a Viral Trend

Japanese teenagers have been busy these days -- busy rocking the Internet, that is. First, Japanese girls conquered the meme world with "hadoukening," stealing killer moves straight out of Dragon Ball Z. Now, the men have returned their meme challenge with "Quidditching."

The game, made famous by Harry Potter and his wizard mates, involved chasing Snitches and beating off Bludgers all while flying on broomsticks. The blog Kotaku realized that these kids have somehow found a way to replicate the game, either because they are secretly all wizards at a Japanese branch of Hogwarts, or they just rule at coming up with viral photo fads.

Maybe they were just inspired by this epic Vine:

We would say it's the girls' move next, but can anyone really top a Harry Potter meme? Doubtful.
