All Nippon Airways' Star Wars-themed plane designed to look like R2-D2 took its inaugural passenger flight Saturday. Lucky fans dressed in costume took the virgin voyage over Haneda, Tokyo.

Regular flights on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner are set to begin Sunday. The plane is the first of three that the airline, in partnership with Disney-owned Lucasfilm Ltd., plans to decorate to fit in with the Star Wars universe. The R2-D2 paint job was unveiled last month.

The plane will fly domestic routes in Japan, and international routes from Tokyo to Beijing, Jakarta, Sydney, Seattle, San Jose, Brussels, Munich, Paris and Vancouver.
