It's been a week of wild weather across the United States: from crushing tornadoes to furious flooding, the calamity was relentless -- and it's only Thursday.
If April showers do in fact bring May flowers, this year's flowers are going to be awesome in Alabama and Florida, as much as 19 inches of rain fell over 24 hours in some places on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The last day of April also unleashed torrential rains that washed out bridges and roads in parts of Pennsylvania and Maryland; sinkholes have been springing up all over the Florida panhandle; and downpours of rain snarled traffic throughout the tri-state area.
