Rainbows haven't been this inspiring since Dorothy first saw color in the land of Oz.

Consumerist reveals that the magical frosting of our youths is back on shelves after a two-year hiatus. During those dark days, when we feared that Betty Crocker Rainbow Chip might be forever lost, we had to make do with the likes of Rainbow Sprinkle frosting (as if a sprinkle was ever a suitable substitution for a chip).

And Funfetti frosting (worthy in its own arena, but not rainbow chip).

Ardent supporters of Rainbow Chip frosting, however, did not go quietly into that good night. There was a Facebook support group and a Change.org petition signed by the thousands. There was a black market on Ebay for the stuff and this frantic tweet from a little-known singer named Katy Perry:

YO @BettyCrocker WHY WOULD U DISCONTINUE RAINBOW CHIP FROSTING? WHAT DA HECK AM I SUPPOSED 2 PUT ON MY FUNFETTI CAKE? HOW CAN I TURN 30 NOW?— KATY PERRY (@katyperry) October 18, 2014

The public spoke and our gal Betty listened. In May 2015 it was announced that the product would be back on store shelves and that day is finally here. You can search by zip code to find your very own can and, when you do, maybe Betty Crocker will throw you a birthday party, like they threw for the person who started of the Change.org petition, Benjamin Johnson.
