Summer is winding down and 2015 is more than halfway over -- but MashableReads still has a full schedule of literary events this autumn.

Join us on October 7th at 6:30pm ET, when acclaimed author Rainbow Rowell stops by Mashable for an evening of all things Rainbow. We'll discuss her best-selling books and her latest novel, Carry On, which publishes October 6th.

Rowell's eclectic style means that her work has something for every reader. Her books cover every genre, from magical realism and epistolary fiction to YA romance and her most recent foray into fantasy adventure.

Rowell appeared on the lit scene in 2011 with her first novel Attachments, a workplace romance set around Y2K in which an IT worker falls in love with a co-worker through her emails. She then exploded into the YA world in 2013 with the award-winning Eleanor & Park, the story of two star-crossed misfits in 1986 Nebraska.

Rowell followed soon after with Fangirl, Tumblr's first Reblog Book Club pick, about an introverted online fanfiction writer who needs to learn how to stand on her own and face the world when she goes away to college. Last summer, Rowell left the world of YA to publish Landline, a love story told in two time periods as the grown Georgie McCool uses a magic telephone to speak to her now-estranged husband back when they first started dating.

Next month, Rowell returns to the magical world first glimpsed in Fangirl with the stand-alone fantasy epic Carry On -- her take on the well-worn Chosen One trope, examined through a post-modern and adult lens. Though the New York Times best-selling author has written across genres, Rowell says that there's a common thread: She "always writes about people who talk a lot. And people who feel like they're screwing up. And people who fall in love."

RSVP here to join us as we talk to Rowell about her previous novels, her fan-favorite Twitter account and the mystery-shrouded Carry On.
