Raincity Studios, a web design and development firm, has purchased Bryght, a company that develops and hosts Drupal-based CMS sites, for an undisclosed sum.
The two companies have had a long relationship with Bryght helping Raincity in their early days with hosting. With some time under their belt, and over 100 collaboration projects, Raincity felt this was the best way to offer a more complete product offering to their growing client base that includes companies such as Sony.
Plans call for Raincity to still develop high-end sites, but they want to also develop "turn-key" style community sites that are tailored to different niches. This is where Bryght and their Drupal background comes in to plan in the larger scheme of the new arrangement.
In addition to the two companies merging, they will also be opening a new office in Shanghai, China to address the growing market that is opening up there.
