Rainn Wilson is on the case in first look at 'Backstrom'

Rainn Wilson has officially left his Dwight Schrute roots behind.

In Fox's Backstrom, from Bones creator Hart Hanson and based on the Swedish book series by Leif G. W. Persson, Wilson takes on the role of Everett Backstrom, a tactless, surly detective who's much better at solving crimes than making friends.

His -- let's say unconventional -- personality often puts him in conflict with his coworkers, like Detective Gravely (Genevieve Angelson), Sgt. Peter Niedermayer (Kristoffer Polaha), and Detective Almond (Dennis Haysbert).
