The forthcoming Indian film Raman Raghav 2.0 is inspired by the real-life serial killer Raman Raghav, who was behind numerous murders and assaults in Mumbai during the mid-1960s. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker and producer Anurag Kashyap, the film will premiere at the 2016 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight.

The newly-released trailer of the film is appropriately chilling. Nawazuddin Siddiqui essays the role of Raghav, narrating his life story in the form of a confession in the police station. Siddiqui’s menacing aura countered by a cocaine-snorting cop played by actor Vicky Kaushal. The trailer suggests that this is no ordinary cop-and-robber story, but a gripping psychological thriller.

Raman Raghav 2.0 will release on June 24, 2016.
