Raven-Symoné has officially been named a co-host of The View, the roundtable ABC talk show your aunt loves to watch.

The announcement is not a total surprise, as she has already made 37 appearances on The View as a guest host. The actress will join fellow co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Nicole Wallace and Rosie Perez.

"Being a part of The View family will be a wonderful growing experience for me,” Raven-Symoné said in a press release. “The cast and crew are warm and welcoming and [have] made the transition into daytime talk easier. I have a lot to learn within this new arena, but being the apprentice of these spectacular women will only make me a better person and talk show host."

The actress, best known for roles on The Cosby Show and That's So Raven, has already made quite an impression during her guest-hosting duties, nabbing headlines for her sometimes controversial statements.

Raven-Symoné once seemingly defended a Univision host who said first lady Michelle Obama looked like an ape. "Some people look like animals. Is that rude? I look like a bird," she said.

Now that ABC has her on permanently, there will likely be a lot more where that came from.
