Real-Life Wolverine Claws Could Slice You in Half

We've seen some pretty solid superpower recreations before, but these real-life Wolverine claws are on another level.

Just a few days before X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23, amateur inventor Colin Furze has recreated an alarmingly lifelike version of Wolverine's razor-sharp claws. He's put together a YouTube video showing them in action, as well as another clip detailing what went into making them a reality.

The 12-inch stainless steel claws, which aren't quite superhero-worthy but could probably make short work of the produce section in your local grocery, are impressive. They can automatically extend or retract on demand. Sure, he has to lug a backpack filled with tech, but it's a small price to pay for real-life claws.

Furze promises to post more DIY X-Men-inspired experiments on his YouTube page.
