YouTube commenters got more fuel for their love-hate fixation with Rebecca Black after the teen sensation dropped her third single this week.
"Person of Interest" details Black's obsession with a Justin Bieber lookalike who wins her heart by demonstrating his mastery of carney tricks. Like Black's last video, "My Moment," the song isn't nearly as horrifically bad as the one that made her famous earlier this year, "Friday."
Yet Black is a magnet for haters and defenders. The current single, released on Tuesday, has gotten more than 100,000 views, but also more than 8,000 likes and close to 7,000 dislikes. YouTube commenters, not known for their subtlety, are split between criticizing Black's lyrics, singing and career and applauding her bravery and looks. Unfortunately, the haters are not confined to the Internet; Black quit middle school this summer because of bullying.
