Social news site Reddit has shared some of its stats from 2014, showing it's one step closer to fulfilling its mission to become the "front page of the internet."

According to a post on Reddit blog, the site had 71.25 billion pageviews, 54.9 million posts and 535 million comments in 2014. It harbors over 8,000 active communities, and the site's official mobile app has been installed 1.6 million times.

Reddit claimed to have had 56 billion pageviews, 40.85 million posts and 404.6 million comments in 2013. In a blog post dating Dec. 31, 2013, one of the site's admins noted the site has had 731 million unique visitors, but that number is missing from this year's stats.

Still, the rest of the numbers spell solid growth for the already gargantuan online community. According to Alexa's list of most popular websites on the web, Reddit is currently the 32nd largest site out there.
