Reddit user BitchslappedByLogic claims that the party was hosted by Twitter user @2ToneShorty based on this post:
@OrlyChak well its My party but yea its in Dblock— 2Tone (@2ToneShorty) July 16, 2012
Bitchslappedbylogic noted that some people who may have been invited anticipated the party had the potential to turn violent:

Bitchslappedbylogic continued to dig through Twitter profiles of people apparently involved with the event, finding messages from victims and attendees:

According to Bitchslappedbylogic, Jada was shot and possibly killed, as indicated by her boyfriend's tweets:
Dead of not she'll be my girlfriend forever!!!!— Live 2 Tell (S.C-M) (@SLRH_) July 17, 2012
Bitchslappedbylogic also deduced the incident may be the result or cause of a blood feud between families or rival gangs:
Ohhnoo... I'm just taking in how big this situation is because of who their family is... Smh— R.I.P ShyShy (@__JadenRose) July 17, 2012
The Redditor's work has been drawing the attention of local media outlets, who have tweeted some of the accounts cited in the original post in an effort to arrange interviews:
these reporter niggas need to leave my nigga @SLRH_ the fuck alone, on some real shit, fuckin dummys— Sosa (@EMJones__) July 17, 2012
A few of the Twitter users cited by Bitchslappedbylogic have set their Twitter profiles to private, perhaps as a result of unwanted attention due to the Reddit post.
In later comments, Bitchslappedbylogic makes clear that he's not a professional journalist, but rather "just a guy who thinks mainstream media coverage of almost everything is woefully inadequate." His investigation, along with more than 700 Redditors' comments discussing his work, can be found here. Mashable has reached out to him to learn more, and we'll update this post with any response.
UPDATE: Bitchslappedbylogic has responded:
"I've been using social media in this specific way -- to find counterpoints to mainstream media narratives -- for probably five or six years. It began as a way to prove to myself that there is merit in MSM-critical arguments, e.g. Manufacturing Consent. Once I got over the angst, it morphed into something entirely different. A fascinating new way of seeing the world.
I still remember the compare-and-contrasts I compiled while the revolution was going on in Tahrir Square; what we saw via Western media was a far cry from what Egyptians experienced. Same even with events close to home, like the G20 in Toronto. How public officials portrayed the events didn't match up with what people were saying via social media. The recent OIPRD report confirmed that a lot of what we were told via official channels that weekend was total BS."
Do you think Bitchslappedbylogic's method of culling Twitter for potentially relevant information is a viable method of finding out the truth in such a tragic and chaotic event? Should police learn from his methods? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
