Man Uses Reddit to Help Find Missing Mom

Reddit played hero to a man and his mother in New York City Tuesday.

Josh Goldberg posted on the subreddit r/nyc looking for help finding his missing mother, May Goldberg. The 59-year-old woman suffers from severe dementia and walked out of her Upper West Side apartment in the middle of the day and never returned.

Goldberg posted personal information and photographs to help track her down and hoped the kindness of the Reddit community could assist with the rest.

A fellow Redditor by the username of geryorama saw Goldberg's story Tuesday afternoon and later that night, came upon May on a city street. After helping her to safety, he posted a response explaining how he found the missing woman.

For his heroism, geryorama received 23 months of Reddit Gold and more than 16,000 upvotes.
