We know you've wondered what the world would look like if apes took over the planet.

But even if you haven't, SNL has done the wondering for us all in this cut-for-time sketch featuring Reese Witherspoon.

In the sketch, which comes from the Oscar winner's May episode, Witherspoon plays herself, trapped inside a Universal Studios that is run by slightly hairier primates than it is currently.

She's being held captive along with a few other stars, too, including a troublingly accurate Danny DeVito. (Bless you, Bobby Moynihan.)

The video also brings to an end Mashable's summer of SNL, which delivered bonus clips from some of the season's best episodes.

SNL returns Oct. 3 with all-new episodes, memories, laughs and probably at least one ape at some point.
