Regator for the iPhone [iTunes link] is a newly released app that puts an aggregated view of the blogosphere in your pocket. You can use the free app as alternative feed reader to read popular and new blog posts, and search their archive of over 3 million items. It's also a pocket-friendly way to get instant access to the web's trending topics.
The Regator iPhone app offers a quick way to access popular posts, new stories, web trends, and includes a directory of over 500 topics. In the Popular and New tabs, you'll see a thumbnail view of blog posts that are hot or new across all categories. You can then use the green bar at the top to narrow blog posts by topic.
The app is great way to find fresh blog content getting traction, but it's also perfect for reading full blog posts, discovering related content, and sharing posts via email, Twitter, or Facebook. We really like the app, however, for its ability to aggregate the web's trending topics. With the Trends tab, you can view trending topics aggregated from the entire blogosphere, or filtered to the topic of your choosing. Simply select a trending topic to view all related blog posts.
All in all, we quite like Regator's iPhone app and think it might be the perfect way to keep up with the blogosphere while you're out and about.
