Rescue workers in Indonesia have reached the site of the Trigana Air Service plane that crashed in the mountains of Papua, Indonesia on Sunday.

All the bodies of the 54 people onboard have been found at the wreckage, CNN reported.

The plane was flying from Jayapura to Oksibil, two cities in the easternmost region of Indonesia.

Officials believe that the plane was affected by bad weather -- heavy rain, strong winds and fog -- when it lost contact with the airport minutes before it was supposed to land.

On Monday, the two teams of rescuers also found it hard to reach the crash site because of the rugged terrain and thick fog on the mountains, and eventually gave up.

The crash site is just 14 km from the Oksibil airport.

Trigana Air doesn't have a good safety record. Prior to the crash, it had already racked up 19 serious safety incidents since 1992, according to Flightglobal.

It's also one of a list of blacklisted airlines that the European Commission doesn't allow in its airspace due to safety issues.
